Netiquette

CDPQ Infra requires respectful interactions on its social media accounts and in all matters related to its participation on various digital platforms. The aim of CDPQ Infra’s online presence is to create a space for communicating about the company’s projects, activities, and most recent news. Internet users who choose to comment must adhere to the rules of this netiquette.

Our team reserves the right to delete comments without notice or explanation. It also reserves the right to ban from our social media accounts any users who repeatedly make unacceptable comments, do not respect the rules of this netiquette, or for any other reason the team determines. Bans can be temporary or permanent.

Our team also reserves the right to close the comments section of any post at any time without notice. The comments contained there will be deleted without warning or notice, regardless of their content.

The company appreciates and encourages interaction. Discussions with CDPQ Infra and with Internet users who comment on our posts must respect the following rules:

1. Respect for the community

To encourage communication and ensure constructive exchanges, comments should be formulated in a respectful manner. Interactions should be positive and always courteous in tone.

2. Identity

If there is any doubt as to the identity of a comment’s author or if an account appears to be using another person’s identity, CDPQ Infra reserves the right not to respond to questions and to delete the comments.

3. Content of comments

Inappropriate comments

Comments deemed inappropriate will be masked or deleted. For example: remarks that are offensive, defamatory, harassing, aggressive or discriminatory; personal attacks; vulgar, obscene or malicious language; copy-pasting on multiple posts; spamming or trolling; illegal, offensive, defamatory, threatening, abusive behaviour, etc.

Promotional comments

Messages promoting personal, professional or political projects will be systematically deleted.

Message content

Comments containing hyperlinks are accepted, provided they are relevant to the subject of the conversation and we can verify their authenticity. Sending repeated messages negatively impacts interactions and will not be tolerated. Text in capital letters should be avoided, as it can be interpreted as aggressive.

4. Debates

Debates can expand and become irrelevant to the discussion at hand, or to CDPQ Infra and its projects. We reserve the right to remove exchanges that go beyond the scope of our organization, and potentially to move them into a future discussion.

5. Questions received on social media

We pay particular attention to all your contributions. Yet, while we respond to the great majority of questions that are sent to us, we cannot guarantee that we will reply to every message. However, we are committed to correcting any inaccurate or misleading information about CDPQ Infra and its activities as quickly as possible.

6. Responsibility

Comments and questions posted by Internet users are not reviewed by CDPQ Infra prior to publication, although we do our best to moderate them. It’s important to remember that each platform has its own rules for display (for example, the most relevant comments will be displayed first on Facebook) and content distribution (repetition and distribution of content in subscribers’ news feeds), and that CDPQ Infra has no control over this. We strive to apply this netiquette as effectively as possible, but we cannot be held responsible for disrespectful exchanges between Internet users. Internet users who post on our accounts do so with full knowledge of the facts.
