
Julien Hurel
Vice-President, REM Project
At CDPQ Infra since 2020, notably as Senior Director, Transport System, Mr. Hurel has held the position of Vice President for the REM project since September 2023. In addition to his expertise in automated transport systems, he has extensive experience in managing and commissioning public transport projects worldwide.
He began his career working on the new metro line between the island of Hong Kong and the airport, which was followed by numerous large-scale projects including the Dubai Tram, Mexico City’s Line 12 and London’s Elizabeth line. Residing in Canada since 2017, Mr. Hurel has overseen Alstom's Hurontario and Finch light rail projects in Toronto and participated in the bid for the expansion of Go Transit in the same city.
Holding an MBA from HEC Paris, a master’s degree in operations management from the University of Nottingham and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Coventry University in the United Kingdom, Mr. Hurel boasts over 20 years’ experience in the transportation industry.
