Paula Negron is an associate professor with the Université de Montréal (UdeM) School of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture. She has a multidisciplinary background with bachelor’s degree in architecture, a master’s degree in urban planning and a doctorate in environmental planning design. She specializes in the relationships between urban structures and day-to-day mobility, with a particular focus on issues of spatial accessibility in suburban areas from a spatial equity and person-environment relationship perspective. She is an active member of several research teams, including UdeM’s Observatoire Ivanhoé Cambridge de développement urbain et immobilier and Concordia University’s VIES – Vieillissements, exclusions sociales et solidarités teams. Her current research focuses on the challenges faced by older people aging in suburban areas and medium-sized cities.
