Julien Hurel
Vice-President, REM Project
Julien Hurel has held the position of Vice-President, REM Project since September 2023. In addition to his expertise in automated transit systems, Julien has extensive experience in managing and commissioning public transit projects around the world.
Holding an MBA from HEC Paris, a master’s degree in operations management from the University of Nottingham and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Coventry University, Julien boasts over 20 years’ experience in the transportation industry.
He began his career working on the new metro line between the island of Hong Kong and the airport, which was followed by numerous large-scale projects including the Dubai Tram, Mexico City’s Line 12 and London’s Elizabeth line. Julien has resided in Canada since 2017, overseeing Alstrom’s Finch and Hurontario LRT projects and participating in the company’s GO Expansion call for tenders in Toronto before joining CDPQ Infra in late 2020.
